Faith or fear?

We recently watched a movie called "After Earth" with Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith.  It did not get any good reviews but it was enlightening to me!  Will is a general in a post apocalyptic environment on another planet.  Earth was invaded by alien creatures called ursa that caused humans to vacate earth.  The ursa had no sight. They could smell your fear and would then attack and kill you.  During the war it was discovered to be completely free of fear made you to completely invisible to the ursa. Not very many people could do that.  That was my first "Aha!" moment in this movie.

I have always known that fear interfered with faith.  I have also always known that fear was from the enemy.  Could I be completely free of fear?  If I was completely free of fear ~ ALL fear ~ Completely trusting in God with NO FEAR ~ would I be invisible to the enemy?  Would the enemy's attacks on me be ineffective?

Here are more quotes from the movie that made me think.

Fear is a choice.  It is NOT a reality.  When the bills are due and there is not enough money, we can choose to fear or choose to trust God in FAITH.  When faced with seemingly impossible situations, we can choose fear of failure and defeat or choose to trust in the God of the impossible.  Choose FAITH.  Choose God.

I recently read that there are 365 bible passages that tell us not to fear.  One for every day of the year!  Here are some of my favorites:

I John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear

Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Dueteronomy 20:1 When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you.

Dueteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.

I choose FAITH.  I choose to trust God.  I choose perfect love.  Thank you LORD for your perfect love.
